During any other year, many Disney fans would’ve already traveled to the place Where Dreams Come True; they would’ve explored Magic Kingdom, met the characters and eaten iconic Disney food. (Fortunately, Disney released a ton of its most popular recipes, like Dole Whip, churros and a Hawaiian cheeseburger). But COVID-19 turned our worlds upside down, and we had to put that Disney magic on hold until it was safe to return to the park.
Now, since Magic Kingdom reopened on July 11, Disney announced that it’s making a design change—and fans of this iconic landmark will definitely want to know more. Here’s an update about Cinderella Castle!
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!
Disney is waving a wand and transforming the splendid Cinderella Castle. The official Disney Parks Blog outlined how the castle will be different for those who visit the park in the coming weeks, and honestly, we think it sounds pretty wonderful.
The most noticeable change will be an update to the color scheme. Now they’ve added a “sapphire dusting” and gold trim to make the building sparkle in the sun, and we’re smiling just imagining it! It seems like they’re drawing inspiration from Cinderella’s gorgeous dress and glass slippers, and we’re all about it. It really is a castle fit for a princess. Disney will put finishing touches on the castle soon.
Psst… Cinderella’s Royal Table, the restaurant inside Cinderella Castle, is closed for now. Here’s where to eat at Disney instead.
What Can I Expect If I Go to Disney World?
You’ll notice some changes, that’s for sure. For now, face masks are required for guests over the age of 2, there will be temperature checks and park capacity will be reduced. Here’s a closer look at what to expect when Disney World reopens.
