Disneyland Just Shared a Recipe for Homemade Dole Whip

Anyone who had plans to visit a Disney park this spring had their dreams crushed due to the coronavirus. Safety first, of course! But to keep the magic alive, Disney recently gave its fans a little treat via the Disneyland app: a Dole Whip recipe you can blend up in the safety of your home.

Psst! See where some of your favorite park foods ranked on our list of the best foods to eat at Disney.

Is This the Official Dole Whip Recipe?

No, Disney provided a recipe for “frozen pineapple treat,” and it contains three ingredients: pineapple juice, frozen pineapple and ice cream. The last ingredient is controversial since the real Disney Dole Whip is dairy-free. To make an official Disneyland Dole Whip recipe at home, invest in Dole’s Pineapple Soft Serve Mix. It comes in a food service-size bag, but will work in a home ice cream maker, too.

How to Make Dole Whip at Home

Making this refreshing treat at home couldn’t be easier. Here’s a closer look at the step-by-step directions provided through the Disney app and shared by the Disney Food Blog.

Dole Whip Ingredients

  • 1 big scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 4 ounces of pineapple juice
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple

Directions

The first step is to add all the ingredients to a blender. Then, blend until smooth. Scoop the thick slush into a piping bag, if you have one, or a plastic bag with a corner cut off. The last step is to slowly squirt the Dole Whip into a bowl to get that signature swirl!

How to Make More Disney Magic

While Disney’s version is delicious, we also have a traditional dairy-free Dole Whip recipe. Just add some homemade Disney churros and other beloved park foods like turkey legs and Monte Cristo sandwiches and you’ll be all set for a stay-at-home vacation! (Wearing Mickey ears is optional.)
