Ramen Bombs Explode with the Perfect Serving of Noodles—and We’re Ready to Slurp

After hot cocoa bombs (which, honestly, we’re still not over), we had tea bombs, wine bombs and, memorably, broth bombs, which we’ve been using to make cozy bowls of soup. If that wasn’t enough, someone on TikTok decided to turn a dorm room staple into a bomb, too—and it’s exploded (pun intended) across the internet.

Yep, we’re talking about ramen noodles!

What Is a Ramen Bomb?

Each ramen bomb contains a single serving of ramen noodles in a hard shell, with spices, seasonings and what looks like sriracha sauce layered over the top. You pour boiling water over the shell, and voila—your ramen bomb explodes into a bowl of delicious soupy goodness, infused with flavor!

As for what the hard outer shell is made of, no one on TikTok really seems to know—though some commenters have guessed lard, ice, rice starch or frozen broth. Others have guessed salt or chicken fat, which could be used to add some body to the soup. Either way, this seems like a great way to turn a regular bowl of noodles into something super fun.

Can I Buy Ramen Bombs?

Unfortunately, these ramen bombs aren’t available commercially—but it’s possible to DIY them at home. You can use a homemade curry powder blend, or modify your favorite ramen soup recipe. You can also top it with a fried egg, some homemade kimchi or use one of these hacks to truly take your ramen to the next level.

And hey, if ramen bombs aren’t your thing, you can always try making this Hoisin Pork Tenderloin or these Quick Sesame Chicken Noodles, or try something a little different with these Ramen Sliders!
