Avocado Green Appliances Are Back (Yes, Really!)

When it comes to kitchens, what’s old is new again. Grandma’s Pyrex has been dusted off and is now displayed with pride, 60s-inspired bar carts are just as popular now as they were decades ago and vintage kitchen accessories are everywhere. The latest when it comes to retro revivals: avocado green appliances.

Really? Avocado Appliances?

You got that right! Avocado green appliances are back thanks to KitchenAid. This time, however, they’re referred to as Avocado Cream.

The Avocado Cream ranges have that retro-made-new vibe. This hue is a bit milder than the olive-like tone of the past, but it still gives a nod to Grandma’s kitchen circa 1975. It has us dreaming of cooking up a few of these retro dishes but with a few of our favorite new ingredients to suit our modern tastes.

As for the ranges, they’re definitely made with serious cooks in mind. These ovens are inspired by commercial appliances and include features like extra burners, a convection setting and the ability to connect to your smartphone, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

What Other Appliance Colors Are Coming Back?

Scorched Orange 3

KitchenAid isn’t stopping at avocado-colored ovens. The company’s newest line of commercial-inspired ranges also includes new takes on other retro kitchen colors like harvest gold and coppertone—except now you can refer to them as Yellow Pepper and Scorched Orange.

If these 70s-inspired colors are a bit too much for you, that doesn’t mean you have to default to plain ol’ stainless steel at home. You can find KitchenAid appliances in muted blue, candy apple red and other colors.

Where Can I Get Colored Appliances

If you’re ready to commit to a retro renovation of your kitchen, you can find KitchenAid ranges in all kinds of wonderful colors right on their website. If you’re interested in seeing your new oven up close before you buy, you can find a KitchenAid retailer near you.
