If there’s one thing we love Costco for, it’s that you can get basically ANYTHING there in bulk (or an otherwise obscene quantity). That’s what the giant warehouse store is known for! Over the holidays you could find massive 4-pound pecan pies, apple pies and pumpkin pies. They’re honestly the thing of dreams, trust me! Visiting Costco is always a great time for great finds.
Last year, we talked about these wonderful 7-pound jars of Nutella. Now, we’re here to talk about these super amazing 1-pound jars of Costco Dulce De Leche. So much yum!
What Exactly Is Dulce De Leche?
Dulce De Leche, as explained on the jar label, is a milk caramel spread that is both nut-free and gluten-free. It’s made from slowly heating sweetened condensed milk and is a very popular dessert from Latin America. It’s creamy, sugary and PERFECT for all types of desserts. It would even be great on a piece of toast or a bagel!
How Much Will It Cost?
This particular jar from Costco will run you about $5.99 for a 40 ounce jar of the good stuff. When you think about all the uses you’ll have for a 1-pound jar, there’s almost no reason not to. You know what I mean? While they are available at Costco warehouses for the time being, I would be quick to check out your local store. You never know if you’ll be fast enough to grab a jar before they completely run out!
How Can I Use Dulce De Leche?
More like how can you not use it. There are so many different recipes and desserts to try, but I’ll list a few that have been tested and approved by yours truly over here at Taste of Home:
- Dulce De Leche Cheesecake
- Dulce De Leche Banana Cream Pie
- Dulce De Leche Hot Chocolate Pods
- Dulce De Leche Rice Pudding
- Dulce De Leche French Toast Bake
