Every year during Easter, my mom would hide our baskets around the house like a scavenger hunt. Besides all the Snickers, Twix, Milky Ways and M&M’s we got, she also loaded us up on another special treat. Yes, you guessed it—PEEPS! The iconic sugar crystal-studded marshmallows have been an Easter staple for as long as I can remember.
Last year, we unfortunately suffered a—gasp—shortage on the little guys. During the tail end of 2020, the novelty Peeps that usually came out for Halloween and Christmas were put on a halt. We understood the reasoning, but that didn’t make us any less upset! Well, lucky for us Peep-poppin’ people, we’ve got a brand new year to look forward to.
What Can We Expect This Easter?
According to Peeps themselves, we can expect the usual line-up, as well as a few new and wacky products to kick off the season. That means our beloved Marshmallow Chicks and Bunnies will be there to comfort us when we need them the most. I mean, how can you not love the adorable little things? My mom used to eat a whole package in just a few minutes. They’re pretty irresistible!

Much like last easter when Peeps launched a slew of new flavors, so too will they do so for 2021. We’ve got the inside scoop that one of their newest flavors will be Hot Tamale Peeps. You KNOW I’ll be jumping on that train ASAP! On top of the marshmallow treats themselves, we’ll also be seeing some adorable new merchandise for the season as well. If you’re a Peeps mega fan, you’d best keep an eye out!
When Will They Be Released?
Peeps are currently scheduled to come back on February 3. That’s only in a few days! While I know it will be hard to contain your excitement, it’s all about patience. Everyone knows that Peeps are a must have for the Easter season, but we can expect they’ll be available in most major retail locations. Wahoo!
If you haven’t already, you totally need to try the Peeps cereal and Peeps coffee creamer. Like, duh!
