You Can Make a Holiday Wreath Out of Starbucks Cups, and the Result Is So Cute

Christmas is almost upon us, and that means indulging in all the festive goodies we can get our hands on. Starbucks is always a great seasonal satisfier, rolling out a holiday menu each year even Santa can’t help but crave. (They even brought back the Irish Cream Cold Brew for 2020!) But if you’re just throwing out those adorable holiday Starbucks cups, you’re actually throwing away the cutest DIY Christmas decoration every Starbucks lover needs right now.

You might want to save that Starbucks cup after your next latte run. This Starbucks holiday wreath is so easy to recreate at home, and it’s an inexpensive way to pay homage to your favorite siren. Here’s how to get started.

How to Make a Starbucks Holiday Wreath

Believe it or not, this actually isn’t a new idea. Baristas at Starbucks everywhere have been making wreaths out of cups for a while now—you might even spot one in your local cafe. To get started, you’ll need a whole lot of cups—28 Grande cups for one ring, to be exact. (Yes, we counted.)

Putting the whole thing together is pretty simple—just hot glue or tape the cups together at the side so the logo points outward. Carefully arrange your cups in a circle and close them all together at the top with a bow or the decoration of your choice. Just look at how beautiful these wreaths are!

If you don’t have the time—or the appetite—for 28 Grande lattes in a row, you can always ask your local Starbucks for cups. You’ll want to make sure you get a good variety, and your best option is to collect cups from different stores, simply so you don’t get turned down at the very first stop. If you’re not keen on driving from store to store, you can always call ahead and see if your local Starbucks will contribute to your wreath.

Whether or not you get charged for cups will likely vary by location, though it doesn’t hurt to supplement your cup order with a secret menu drink.

Dress up Your Wreath This Holiday Season

What’s best about this quick craft is that it’s pretty versatile. You can make a Starbucks holiday wreath with any size cup and include the decorations of your choice. Spice it up with some ornaments (you can DIY those, too!), holly and even string lights to really make your wreath shine, or go with a simple look. Either way, this wreath is guaranteed to be the talk of the (socially distanced) holiday party.
