How to Make a 1-Minute Oreo Mug Cake with Just 2 Ingredients

We’ve learned a lot from TikTok this year. The viral video app has made us rethink the way we navigate the kitchen with all kinds of tasty tricks, like laying bread down on the skillet while you fry eggs for the perfect breakfast sandwich. But we can also thank TikTok for some seriously decadent (and simple) desserts.

This TikTok video proves that Oreo mug cake is almost too easy to make at home. You’ll need two ingredients, a microwave and about a minute!

How to Make an Oreo Mug Cake

Naturally, you’re going to want to begin with a package of Oreos. These can be the flavor of your choice (might we suggest Gingerbread Oreos?). For the tutorial, @SweetPortfolio on TikTok uses red holiday Oreos.

Start this recipe off by crushing four to five Oreos in a mug with a fork, then once the cookies are finely ground, soak the crumbs in 1/4 cup of milk. (You could also use a non-dairy milk if you prefer.)

Then, pop your mug into the microwave for a minute and thirty seconds. You can also amp this recipe up by submerging a Lindor truffle, extra Oreo or even marshmallows in the mixture before you microwave. Who doesn’t love biting into a surprise treat in homemade mug cake?!

Top Off Your Masterpiece

To finish this recipe, @SweetPortfolio uses white chocolate shavings, though you can opt for any topping you like. Drizzle your mug cake with Hershey’s syrup if you’re a real chocoholic, or complete your cake with melted caramel and sea salt for a savory treat. Might we suggest some crushed candy canes for a wintry peppermint twist?

We don’t know about you—but we’re having Oreo mug cake for dessert tonight!
