2020 has changed how we do a lot of things, including dining out at restaurants. While dining in may not be an option this year, many restaurants that are open on Christmas will offer takeout, delivery or curbside pickup.
These are the restaurants that should be open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day (or both)—though we recommend you call in advance to be sure. To make a night of it, watch one of these Christmas movies on Netflix, too.
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
Want to splurge on a steak dinner on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Here are the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses that will be open. Simply click on the “Reservation” button and scroll down to the “Locations (Select a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse)” menu. Ruth’s Chris is also offering a special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menu for online ordering and pickup.
Sizzler
For a nice steak dinner, Sizzler offers a less pricey alternative than Ruth’s Chris, and many Sizzler locations are open on Christmas. Select locations also offer online ordering and curbside pickup.
Morton’s The Steakhouse
Morton’s is open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dining. While some locations are closed for in-restaurant dining, they also offer online ordering and delivery or curbside pickup. You can pre-order their Christmas Special in advance and pick it up on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Orders must be placed no later than December 23 at 6 p.m.
Del Frisco’s Steakhouse
Del Frisco’s is open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for takeout, delivery and even dine-in at select locations. If you would like to enjoy their Christmas Prime Rib Special at home, orders must be placed by December 23. Then, take a look at some of these other holiday traditions to start this year.
Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse
Many of the Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse locations in the United States will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will be offering a special holiday menu. While some locations are closed to in-restaurant dining, some are offering outdoor patio dining as well as delivery, carryout or curbside pickup. Check here to make sure your Fogo de Chao location is participating and for specific hours.
McCormick & Schmick’s
McCormicks & Schmicks will be serving a three-course menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day alongside their regular menu. You can also pre-order a holiday feast to go featuring prime rib and all the fixings.
Ben’s Kosher Deli
Ben’s Kosher Deli has locations all around New York and Florida, and good news: they’re not only open throughout the holidays, but they also will cater your holidays at home.
Legal Seafoods
Many Legal Seafoods locations are open on Christmas, but each location has its own Christmas hours. Depending on location and local regulations, options may include patio or in-restaurant dining or delivery.
IHOP
IHOP has not yet announced that its locations will be open on Christmas 2020. However, IHOP has been open on Christmas in previous years, with the caveat that the decision to stay open (including the hours of operation) are up to the individual franchisees. We expect delivery and curbside pickup to be available on Christmas Day.

Marie Callendar’s
A message on the Marie Callendar’s website notes, “Most of our restaurants are open on Christmas Day.” However, you should check your local restaurant for hours, prices and participation. For those who opt to do takeout, meals will be available for pickup after 11 a.m. on Christmas Day.
Buca di Beppo
Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurants open at 11 a.m. on Christmas Day and many locations are open for dine-in. This year, Buca’s is offering a special Holiday Cake Boss Special for five that includes salad, pasta, entree and cake, and is available for pickup or delivery.
Boston Market
“Join us Christmas Day at select locations for a traditional, delicious plated holiday meal,” Boston Market says on its website. You can also pick up a Feast for 3, whole pies, or hot side dishes. They’ll even deliver full meals to your door.
Denny’s
Denny’s will be open on Christmas (Eve and Day), just like every other day of the year. Drive-up ordering, curbside pickup and contactless delivery are also available. Find out what the first Denny’s was called when it opened.
Waffle House
Like Denny’s, Waffle House is always open. With a 24/7/365 operating hours policy, you can count on Waffle House for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals. Check out these original locations of famous chain restaurants.
Perkins Restaurant and Bakery
Perkins is famous for its fluffy buttermilk pancakes, which are a tasty breakfast on December 25. As well as offering its famous breakfast menu on Christmas Day, Perkins will introduce a limited special menu that includes a turkey dinner with pie, with the option for seconds. Just make sure to call ahead for your location’s hours.

Shoney’s
According to TripSavvy, Shoney’s will be open for Christmas with a Christmas Day buffet for dinner. Call ahead to your local restaurant to confirm its participation.
