As if we didn’t already have enough reason to visit Krispy Kreme every chance possible, it seems the coffee and doughnut giant is adding more irresistible items to the menu. We know and love the one-stop-morning-shop for their classic glazed rounds, and even more for their creative new additions over the years like kreme-filled, lemon, blueberry and strawberry. (Did you get a chance to try their pumpkin spice collection while it was around? We sure hope so!)
Next on the agenda is a flavor favorite that’s sure to please: two brand-spankin’-new Krispy Kreme caramel doughnuts! Your morning just got a whole lot sweeter.
Did Somebody Say Doughnuts?
Fall’s best baked goods are made so much better with a little caramel. That is, if you do it right—and Krispy Kreme has definitely done it right. The two latest Krispy Kreme creations both showcase our beloved caramel in two very different, but very delectable, ways. The appropriately dubbed Classic Caramel Doughnut is an Original Glazed Doughnut covered in a waterfall of rich caramel glaze. As you can imagine, it’s just as incredibly delicious as their namesake doughnut, but with a little caramelized kick. (Just watch that drizzle in action!)
As for the Salted Caramel Double Crunch Doughnut—the one I’m most excited for—you can expect a lot of sweetness mixed with a bit of saltiness. It’s essentially the Classic Caramel Doughnut dipped in caramel icing and sprinkled with an irresistibly salty crunch topping. Salt always seems to bring out the flavor of caramel even more, don’t you think?
When Will These Doughnuts Be Available?
The doughnuts were launched on November 9, 2020, so you can find these caramel gems at participating Krispy Kreme locations right now. But only for a limited time! The Classic Caramel Doughnut and the Salted Caramel Double Crunch Doughnut are disappearing for good on November 22, 2020.
There’s no time to waste like the present to get your fill of Krispy Kreme. Just listen to the words from Dave Skena, the Chief Marketing Officer, himself: “It’s incredibly delicious and you’re going to need to take a moment for yourself and just be one with caramel awesomeness. It’s been a year, to say the least. You’ve earned it.”
