Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang have always been an important part of my family’s holiday get-togethers. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! was always my go-to Halloween special when I was little…and not much has changed! We have it on old ’80s VHS recordings, but some people don’t own it at all. Sad face.
Earlier this year, we learned that Charlie Brown holiday specials weren’t going to air on TV. Instead, they were going to be shown on Apple TV. But now it seems those of us without Apple TV will still be able to enjoy the holiday specials in 2020—here’s how!
Where Can We Watch the Charlie Brown Specials This Year?
While the specials have often been shown on ABC in the past, this year you can find the specials on PBS and PBS Kids, thanks to a partnership with Apple TV. I remember watching PBS constantly while I was a child, so they’ve definitely got a special place in my heart. (You can check out Julia Child’s show The French Chef on PBS, too.)
You may have missed out on It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! a few weeks ago, but fret not. You’ll still be able to catch the other Charlie Brown classics.
- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving airs on PBS and PBS Kids November 22 at 6:30 p.m. CST
- A Charlie Brown Christmas airs on PBS and PBS Kids December 13 at 6:30 p.m. CST
If you have Apple TV, the Charlie Brown specials are still available for you, too! A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will be available to watch November 25-27, 2020. A Charlie Brown Christmas will be available to watch December 11-13, 2020.
