McDonald’s is the home of the original fast-food breakfast. How is anyone supposed to resist picking up an Egg McMuffin on a busy day? It pairs beautifully with a McCafe iced latte, one of the most underrated things to order at McD’s.
It seems like McDonald’s launches a new breakfast sandwich every year or two. But now they’re serving something different with coffee. McDonald’s has added bakery to its menu for the first time in eight years.
What’s New on the Menu at McDonald’s?
McDonald’s started our love affair with fast-food breakfast in 1971, when it launched the Egg McMuffin. And who could forget when McGriddles appeared in 2003?! Now, in 2020, McDonalds is bringing more to breakfast with a brand-new bakery lineup.
The chain has launched three sweet baked goods to pair with your McCafe:
- First, we’ve got cinnamon rolls to look forward to. If you’re anything like me, this will be on the top of your “to try” list. Each pastry is made with delicious cinnamon wrapped up in fluffy dough and smothered in cream cheese icing. It’s basically heaven in a spiral.
- Next, there’s the apple fritter. If you’ve never had an apple fritter, let me tell you, they’re a flavor bonanza! The extraordinary combination of baked apple, cinnamon, fluffy pastry and sugar coating make this baked good an iconic treat.
- Last, but not least, we’ve got a classic blueberry muffin with a divine streusel crumb topping. An essential part of any delicious breakfast.

When Will These Be Available?
Starting October 28, these three sweet treats will be available all day at McDonald’s I couldn’t ask for a better mood-lifter! You’ll be able to pick them up in restaurants, at the drive-thru or via McDelivery. We still have a few more weeks to wait, but it’ll be worth the wait. Until then, order a few famous Apple Pies to pass the time.
