Last year, Milky Way joined the likes of sweet, seasonal releases like pumpkin pie Kit Kats, and the new flavor was praised as out of this world. While the classic candy bar already has a Simply Caramel flavor, the latest Salted Caramel is perfect for those who don’t like their caramel to be too sweet, but still a treat. It may just be the best thing about fall—sorry, PSL.
A Salty, Yet Sweet Treat
When it comes to fall flavors, pumpkin is the clear front runner, but salted caramel is up there as well (try this salted caramel mocha if you don’t believe us). Milky Way teased then released this flavor last year, and it’s already a fan-favorite among lovers of all things fall and all things Milky Way.
Just take a gander at this beaut!
Fans of the nougat candy bar don’t have to hold out, because this treat has been at Walmart since last October. In January of this year, the bars rolled out nationwide at several other retailers, like Kroger and Target. The bars are available in singles (1.56 ounces), but keep an eye out for the sharing size the next time you sniff through the candy aisle.
Craving a little extra indulgence? Substitute Salted Caramel Milky Ways in this Milky Way ice cream recipe.
What Does It Taste Like?
In 2019, we got to give them a try before they were released to the public, and trust us—they’re as good as they sound. They’re the ideal blend of salty and sweet, with neither flavor overpowering the other. At first bite, the bar tastes like your run-of-the-mill Milky Way, but the longer you indulge, the tastier it gets. Salt sneaks into the flavor at the end, leaving an irresistible aftertaste that makes this bar a must-buy.
If you catch these at your local grocery store, make sure to snap up a few.
