There’s always been something special about the food in the Harry Potter universe. Sure, the main draw was the magic, but haven’t we all wanted to sip some Butterbeer or eat in the Great Hall? The answer to that is a resounding YES! That’s why Harry Potter theme parks exist, like this one in Japan.
For those of us in the United States, we can chow down on Wizarding World-themed treats at Universal Studios, or in the form of chocolate frogs or Bertie Botts’ Every Flavour Beans. We have Jelly Belly to thank for that—and for a new addition to its line of Harry Potter treats.
It’s an Iconic Aspect of the Series
You’ll soon be able to catch a piece of Harry Potter memorabilia for yourself, because Jelly Belly is releasing its take on the Golden Snitch. OK, so it’s not actually gold, and it doesn’t fly when taken out of its package, but we’re still pretty darn excited—because in some ways, this is better than the real (fictional) thing.
Jelly Belly’s Snitch is a 1.65-ounce chocolate replica of the fast-flying Quidditch mainstay. The box features gold foil accents, and inside, there’s a Quidditch rule sheet that explains why the Snitch is so meaningful.
We bet you didn’t know these secrets from the Jelly Belly Warehouse.
Where Can I Buy It?
If you’re already hopping on your broomstick to seek out the Snitch, you might have to wait a few months. Jelly Belly says it’s releasing the treat “this fall, just in time for holiday gifting,” which makes us think it won’t hit shelves until late September or October.
If this news has bummed you out, don’t be sad! You can still make plenty of Harry Potter-inspired treats (maybe using Wizarding World-inspired cookware), or order a Hogwarts-house Frappuccino at Starbucks.
