September’s Bakeable Challenge
As we enter fall, we can’t help but embrace all things warm and cozy. That’s why this month, we’re focusing on this delectable German apple cake (or Oma’s apfelkuchen). This recipe is full of fall flavor but also makes us think of those warm fuzzy memories of cooking with Grandma, Mom or even our BFFs.
We also love this cake because it’s not your traditional sponge cake. Apfelkuchen is buttery and rich, and the tart apples are the perfect complement. So give this recipe a stir along with some other favorites inspired by Grandma.
How to Participate
- Bake up an apple cake of your own: Bake up an apfelkuchen this month (a great excuse to hit the orchard). Once you’ve accomplished this bake, try these recipes—the perfect next steps.
