We all have our favorite Christmas traditions; cookie recipes to bake every year, must-watch Christmas movies and decorations we’re always excited to bring out when December rolls around. For many of us, an Advent calendar is a holiday essential—there’s something special about counting down the days to December 25.
Of course, the most wonderful time of the year is even more magical with Disney. We’re elated to hear they’re bringing back their Disney Advent calendar lineup this year, in three styles! Here’s what Mickey has in store.
What Advent Calendars Are Available?
Disney has fans of its most popular franchises covered with this trio; the new releases include Frozen, Marvel and a “mashup,” which appears to encompass everything from animated classics to Disney princesses.
From what we can tell, they’ve kept the format the same, so each day will have a Christmas mini-storybook to read together. There are 24 books in the Disney Advent calendar, one for each day of December until the holiday.
If you were hoping for a calendar from a galaxy far, far away, don’t worry—Lego has a Star Wars Advent calendar this year! There’s no storybooks, but plenty of fun for fans of lightsabers and the Force.
How Much Do They Cost?
Thankfully, this Christmas cheer won’t break the bank. The calendars are listed at about $26.99 on Amazon (both the Frozen and Marvel ones and the Disney Storybook mashup). They’re currently available for preorder and will be released on October 6, 2020.
Oh, and if that Star Wars calendar caught your eye, it’ll cost you a bit more; it’s $39.99 on LEGO’s website, with a September 1 release date!
