Heinz Ketchup Just Dropped a 570-Piece Puzzle, and It’s Completely Red

Let’s be real—it’s tough to stay busy in quarantine. When we’re not working from home, the available tasks to complete have dwindled. After all, there’s only so many times you can clean out the junk drawer or tidy up the house.

Thankfully, Heinz has given us a better alternative to staring out the window and sighing deeply. The ketchup company has released a 570-piece, totally red puzzle that’s sure to promise hours of… well, fun might not be the right word. Engagement? Frustration? We’ll let you decide.

Is It Really ALL Red?!

If you’re the type that likes to solve puzzles by sorting and grouping pieces together—finding specific parts of an image and fitting them together before solving the whole thing—then get ready to be challenged. Every single piece in this thing is the same shade of red, which makes sense when you consider what Heinz is all about. But also, yikes.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the weirdest thing Heinz has ever done. For Valentine’s Day, they made ketchup truffles (yum?), and they’ve created “mayomust” and “mayocue” spreads, which combine mayonnaise and mustard and mayonnaise and barbecue, respectively.

I’m Bored and I NEED One!

If you’re desperate to get your hands on one of these ruby-colored time-consumers, you’re in for a bit of a surprise. Only 57 of them have been made (because of the whole 57 flavors thing, get it?), and the only way to win one is by commenting on this Instagram post:

To enter the sweepstakes, just comment on the post saying who you’d finish the puzzle with. Think carefully. Would you still be friends/family members/siblings by the time it’s done? Could your relationship with this person, regardless of its nature, survive the potential strain of assembling 570 pieces of a totally red square? Oh, well. It’s definitely, probably worth taking the chance.

In the meantime, we’ll be daydreaming about the things we can’t wait to do when quarantine ends.
