We just can’t get enough of Aldi this year. Every time we look, they’re back at it with a new product (like their pretty pink watermelon wine). This time, they’ve got the perfect thing to make all our mouths water: peanut butter cups!
Not only are they now selling their own classic versions of the delicious candy, but some have even spoken the unthinkable…they’re better than Reese’s! Looks like we’ll just have to find out for ourselves.
What’s So Special About Aldi Peanut Butter Cups?
The fantastic thing about the Aldi peanut butter cups is the fact that they come in a bag, not a singular package. We know what you’re thinking! Reese’s also comes in a bag, yes, but definitely not for only $2.99.
Beyond their amazing price, a few key differences set these PB cups apart from Reese’s. As we noted in our peanut butter cup taste test, Aldi’s brand, Choceur, boasted Best in Show due to its spot-on ratio of peanut butter and sweet chocolate. The filling, as opposed to Reese’s, is much creamier and more plentiful in the Aldi cups. They’re taller and skinnier, as well. This new look may not be what you’re used to, but we think you should try it anyway. You won’t regret it!
The Reese’s cup came in second and was basically perfect when it came to its chocolate, but the filling was a little grittier than we were looking for. Nevertheless, it is still a fan favorite. How can you not be when they sell half-pound peanut butter cups?
