You Can Now Stream Shakespeare Plays Through June—Here’s How!

Shakespeare’s Globe in London, the theatre where Shakespeare first staged his plays four hundred years ago, is doing everything it can to keep art lovers engaged. Even though their doors are closed, the world-renowned performing arts venue is providing Shakespeare for all through its online channels. So, take a break from binging reality TV and enjoy the best of Shakespeare with free showings of Shakespeare’s Globe productions.

Did you know it was Shakespeare that made the herb rosemary famous?

How to Stream Shakespeare

The Globe is posting six productions on its YouTube channel. Each of the plays will be available for two weeks before the next play begins. From now until Sunday, May 3, you can watch a performance of Romeo & Juliet.

After that, you can enjoy The Winter’s Tale from May 4–17, A Midsummer Night’s Dream from May 18–31, The Two Noble Kinsmen from June 1–14 and The Merry Wives of Windsor from June 15–28.

Those are a lot of dates to remember, so the best way to make sure you don’t miss a performance is to subscribe to the theatre’s YouTube channel. You will receive a reminder when the next video is uploaded. It’s that simple!

More Ways to Enjoy Performances

If the free YouTube performances have you hooked on Shakespeare, the theatre also has its own paid video platform, the Globe Player. There you will find 130 filmed performances, which you can purchase to watch yourself or as a gift for a theater-loving friend.
