Home Depot Is Selling a Pineapple Plant That Will Bring the Tropics Home

Sure, pineapples usually grow in the tropics. But they can be fantastic indoor plants as well, even in cold climates. We’re about ready to add this adorable mini pineapple to our list of recommended houseplants!

Where Can I Buy a Pineapple Plant?

Home Depot is selling this pineapple plant right now. It comes in a 5-inch pot for roughly $24. It’s sold out right now, which means it’s a popular plant to have. But we’re adding our names to the waitlist, so we’ll receive an email when it’s back in stock. Best of all, when you order a mini pineapple plant, Home Depot will ship it right to your door.

This plant sprouts an actual pineapple, but according to the grower, it’s purely ornamental. In other words, you can’t snack on the fruit! But seeing that mini pineapple fruit grow is sure to give off tropical vibes and brighten up the room.

How Do I Take Care of a Pineapple Plant?

You want to mimic the growing conditions of a Hawaiian island. The pineapple plants need about six hours of sunlight a day, so make sure to reserve a spot near a window. Keep your mini pineapple warm—they’re happy with a temperature somewhere between 65° and 82° F.

Typically, you only need to water a pineapple plant once a week. However, if your soil is dry or your plant is outside in the heat, you might need to water the plant more often. For more info, Home Depot even has a manual for the care of pineapple plants.
