Whether or not you’ve seen the new Mr. Rogers biopic, you probably have fond memories of the red-sweatered gentleman who taught us all to be kind. And if you’re a cooking fan, you enjoyed the teachings and wisdom of Julia Child.

Well, if you’re a fan of both cultural icons, we’re about to make your day. A video has surfaced of Mr. Rogers and Julia Child making spaghetti together, and honestly, it’s so delightful we had to stop everything and watch.

It’s Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The video was released by Julia Child’s official Facebook page, seemingly as promotion for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. It teaches kids (and their parents) how to make spaghetti, and even if you already know how it’s done, you’re going to want to hear it from these two absolutely amazing people.

Is Julia making a typical, tomato-sauced spaghetti? “No!” she exclaims. “I think people get rather tired of tomatoes all the time.” We definitely agree. Instead, she and Mr. Rogers make spaghetti Marco Polo, which includes chopped walnuts, chopped black olives, chopped green onion, grated Swiss cheese, red pimento, olive oil, tuna fish, chopped parsley, butter, salt and pepper. She gives animated, cheery advice while Rogers listens, and no spoilers, but it’s utterly delightful and even includes a history lesson about the dish.

Cooking Advice from a Legend

Julia tells Mr. Rogers’ friends they “can order the grown-ups to do what you want done,” and to be honest, even as grown-ups, we’d do anything Julia Child told us to do. Like the rest of the whole world, we’re in love with her wit and wisdom.
