These Are the 6 Unhealthiest Meals You Can Order in Restaurants

Every year, the Center for Science in the Public Interest releases its Top 10 Worst Foods. But this is one title no one wants to win. These are the unhealthiest meals from American restaurant chains.

For reference, most Americans should aim to get about 2,000 calories, 22 grams of fat, and no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium per day. Most of these “winners” go way, way past that in a single meal.

If you want to lose weight or keep your heart healthy, we recommend staying far away from these dishes.

Five Guys’ Bacon Cheeseburger

Five Guys is our guilty pleasure, we’ll admit, but did you know a plain hamburger with nothing on it carries a whopping 840 calories and 20 grams of fat? If the Bacon Cheeseburger is your go-to, you should know the just the burger (no fries included) will cost you 1,060 calories and 30 grams of fat. To top it all off, a large order of fries packs on another 950 calories—almost double that of a large McDonald’s fry!

These “healthy” foods aren’t actually that good for you.

Chipotle’s Chicken Burrito

Chipotle sounds healthy, but don’t let it fool you. A Chicken Burrito, containing chicken, rice, pinto beans, cheese, sour cream, salsa and, of course, a tortilla, actually racks up pretty quickly. Chipotle’s Chicken Burrito will cost you around 1,090 calories and 16 grams of saturated fat. One burrito also contains as much sodium as six Taco Bell Chicken Soft Tacos, at 2,240 milligrams. Make a healthier version of a Chicken Burrito at home with these Chipotle copycat recipes.

Cheesecake Factory’s Tower Truffle Cake

It’s not so much of a surprise that a loaded chocolate cake would contain a lot of calories, but Cheesecake Factory’s Tower Truffle Cake goes above and beyond the recommendation at 1,770 calories. That doesn’t include the side of whipped cream it just doesn’t taste right without, so keep that in mind the next time your sweet teeth is feeling extra strong. Still, we know we’ll be ordering the Tower Truffle Cake from time to time. Who can turn down all that goodness?

Here’s everything you need to know about Cheesecake Factory’s cheesecakes.

Uno Pizzeria & Grill’s Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza

Uno Pizzeria’s individual pizzas are where the calories really collect, weighing in at a whopping 2,240 calories per pie. That includes 240 grams of saturated fat and 4,400 milligrams of sodium—that’s up to two days worth of sodium in one meal! If you’re in the mood for pizza, you may want to skip Uno and head straight to these healthy pizza recipes.

Starbuck’s White Chocolate Mocha

As much as we love Starbucks, and trust us, we love Starbucks, we know our regular orders aren’t necessarily good for us. It may not seem like a lot compared to the rest of the list, but a Venti White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks (including whipped cream, of course) contains 530 calories, 14 grams of saturated fat and 9 teaspoons of extra sugar. Psst…to cut down on calories, cut the whipped cream and opt for a smaller size, or you can order these surprisingly healthy Starbucks drinks, instead.

Don’t worry, be frappé! 😀

McDonald’s Chocolate Shake

Every time we go to McDonald’s, the Chocolate Shake is what we look forward to the most, but it’s far from the healthiest thing on the menu. A large McDonald’s Chocolate Shake contains 840 calories, 14 grams of saturated fat and 22 teaspoons of added sugar. Plus, McDonald’s shakes are typically topped with whipped cream and a candy cherry. Maybe we’ll be cutting the Chocolate Shake out of our diet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still indulge in the healthiest things on the McDonald’s menu.
