Fixer Upper has seen some incredible renovations over the years. Each episode of the HGTV show was a jaw-dropping display of just how talented Chip and Joanna Gaines are. And, while each transformation proved more magnificent than the last, Joanna Gaines says there’s one home, over the course of five years the show aired, that has a special place in her heart. Here are 9 things you didn’t know about Joanna Gaines.
Nearly two years ago, Joanna Gaines posted an inviting picture of a bedroom on her Instagram account. The scene looked straight out of her Magnolia Home collection, with its natural fibers and muted hues.

“The details and style of this week’s Fixer Upper house may be one of my all-time favorites!” Joanna Gaines wrote. See the picture of the master bedroom here.
Referred to as the “La Pequeña Colina,” the renovation revolved around the Aguilar family, who had originally lived in Puerto Rico before moving their family to Waco, Texas.
“They’ve lived in the area for a few years now, but were ready to find a home where they could really settle in,” says Joanna Gaines on Mangolia.com. “The Aguilars have two kids, so they were in need of enough rooms for them, as well as plenty of space for hosting family and friends for years to come. Because of this home’s amazing price point, we had plenty of room in the budget to make all of the needed adjustments to turn this into their perfect forever home.”
Here are 15 recipes inspired by Joanna and Chip’s restaurant, Magnolia Table.
Joanna Gaines’ inspiration was rooted in the Aguilars’ vision for a modern, Mediterranean feel. She chose natural elements, like stone and wood, to bring in the Mediterranean style, then added modern-look materials with clean, sleek details. Adding in subtle textures throughout, including stucco, jute, quarzite kitchen countertops and backsplash, along with fresh greenery, rounded out the design.
Back in 2017, Chip and Joanna Gaines announced their partnership with Target, launching Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. Here are our 10 favorite products from the brand.
“The first thing your eye is drawn to in the master bedroom is the stonework on the focal wall,” Joanna Gaines says of the photo posted on Instagram. “I love the variation of colors in the stone and how it balances out the modern, black French doors and light fixtures.” To create balance in the room, she chose soft, casual accessories such as linen bedding and a jute rug.
