Mint Chocolate Twinkies Are Here for the Holidays

It’s not even Christmas yet, and we’re already feeling merry and bright. Shelves are filling up with all the best seasonal goodies, like Oreo candy canes, Pepperidge Farm’s brand-new toy soldier cookies and even Reese’s cookie skillet kits fit for the foodie on your list. Needless to say, it’s hard not to be excited for the holidays this year, and even more treats are tumbling down the chimney.

Hostess is getting in the spirit of Christmas, too. Santa better make room in his belly, because li-mint-ed edition Mint Chocolate Twinkies are here!

It’s the Sweetest Twinkie Yet

We’re saying goodbye to gold for the season and embracing chocolate and mint. The new Twinkies feature a creamy mint filling and a chocolate cake shell, making for the perfect pre-dinner snack. Every box comes with 10 individually wrapped cakes, so you can share or enjoy the box all on your own. They’re reminiscent of the chocolate Halloween Twinkies that rolled out in September, except instead of s’cream filling, you’re enjoying the coziest flavors of Christmas.

Mint Chocolate Twinkies were first spotted by Instagram user @JunkPickers, who just couldn’t resist snapping a photo and sharing with fellow Twinkie lovers.

Hostess also rang in the fall season with their decadent Iced Pumpkin Cupcakes. Did you try them?

Keep Yours Eyes Out for These Guys

Hostess Mint Chocolate Twinkies are out nationwide, and they’ll be available through December 26 or while supplies last. If you’re on the hunt, start with Walmart—they’ve already got the Twinkies listed on their website. Each box will cost you around $3 at Walmart and around $3.30 on average at other retailers, which is a steal for all the sweetness you’ll get.

Walmart’s website also lists Peppermint Twinkies, though they’re not available yet. Will we see two types of holiday Twinkies this year? We can only hope!
