I think it’s common knowledge that the Internet is a funky place to be. There are tons of weird things to buy and explore, and in my years of exploration, I thought that I had certainly seen it all. That is until I heard that you can officially buy a gallon of pickle juice on Amazon. That’s right, a gallon. Of just pickle juice. Yes, it’s as crazy as it sounds—why would one need a gallon of pickle juice anyway? And if you can get that on Amazon, are there other crazy foods to buy on Amazon, too?
The answer: Absolutely. I did a small search and came across a plethora of crazy food items. And to be honest, pickle juice seems tame compared to some of these items I came across. Let me share a few of these wacky treats with you.
Smoked Rattlesnake
You’d be surprised at the endless amount of smoked bugs and reptiles you can actually buy online. Now if you’re a health nut, this smoked rattlesnake is for you. It doesn’t have any MSG, nitrates, or growth hormones. But it does have…snake.
Zebra Tarantula
Speaking of creepy animals you can eat, turns out you can also eat a dried zebra tarantula. This really isn’t a joke—it’s a dried up tarantula that is meant to have a jerky consistency. Apparently it’s a great source of protein…if you’re into that sort of thing.
Jelly Belly Draft Beer
Do you like jelly beans? How about beer? Ever thought of having both at the same time? Well obviously Jelly Belly did. But wait, there’s more. Not only is it two of the weirdest food combos in one can, but this beer doesn’t have any alcohol content. Oh, and it’s not actually a drink. Just a handful of beer-flavored jelly beans.
Walker’s Prawn Cocktail Chips
We all know Lay’s loves their crazy potato chip flavors, but this brand is taking it a bit far. A prawn is actually a shrimp, so these chips are shrimp-cocktail flavor. Although shrimp cocktail is beyond delicious, I wouldn’t exactly want it flavored on my potato chips. I think I would much rather make a shrimp cocktail recipe myself.
Dehydrated Water
All you do is add water! Wait, what? This dehydrated water is exactly what you think it is—an empty can that is ready to be filled with water. It’s more of a gag gift than anything, but certainly a funny “food” item to buy.
Creamed Possum
I’m going to keep this one brief because the thought of eating creamed possum makes me massively queasy. It comes with “coon fat gravy” and sweet potatoes to top it off, in case you were looking for a well-balanced meal.
Crapola! Granola
I’m straight up laughing at the title of this granola, since the word “crapola” is typically what my mother says when she thinks something tastes terrible. In reality, this Crapola granola actually sounds delicious. Made with oat clusters and dried fruit, this would be a fun snack to add to your morning yogurt—or maybe a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Pumpkin Pie Soda
Let the pumpkin spice craze never die! Enjoy that delicious flavor all year round with this pumpkin pie flavored soda. Why bake a pie when you could just sip on one? Okay, okay. Maybe you want to bake a pumpkin pie too.
Snapping Turtle Jerky
Have you had your fair share of weird jerky flavors yet? I hope not because there are so many more flavors to enjoy. Turns out, snapping turtle jerky is quite expensive. For $17.99 you barely get 2 ounces of the jerky. So if you wanted a whole pound of it, be ready to shell out almost $150.
Jolly Rancher Gelatin
Are you a fan of Jolly Rancher hard candies? Then why not try a box of Jolly Rancher Gelatin! You can find green apple, blue raspberry, watermelon, and cherry gelatin—depending on your favorite Jolly Rancher candy.
Mixed Bugs
Do you have someone in your life that absolutely hates bugs? This is probably the perfect gift for them…unless they don’t have a wild sense of humor. And don’t worry, these mixed bugs aren’t artificially flavored or fried. Just dried up crickets, grasshoppers and silkworms. Yum?
Charms Cereal Marshmallows
Anyone else always go for the marshmallows instead of the actual cereal when eating a bowl of Lucky Charms? Then this cereal is for you! It’s simply a large bag of your favorite marshmallow cereal treat. Talk about having a sweet, sweet morning!
Unicorn Meat
I had to save the best for last because this one really couldn’t be topped. This can of unicorn meat is an Internet classic. But don’t worry, you don’t actually eat a unicorn, given they don’t exist and all that. When you open the can, you’ll come across a plush unicorn doll…but in a terribly depressing state. Another great gag gift for a friend.
Think these items are weird? Then you are going to think these strange food laws for every state are even weirder.
