There’s nothing that hits the spot like a glazed doughnut from Krispy Kreme. This go-to doughnut chain already surprised us with the debut of kreme-filled glazed doughnuts, but Krispy Kreme isn’t done yet. The company is revamping their bakery menu, so get ready for a new Krispy Kreme store that serves milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches!
What’s on the menu?
Milkshakes
For a cool and creamy treat, try Krispy Kreme’s hand-spun milkshakes. They’re topped with whipped cream and a mini doughnut. You have five delicious flavor choices, including Vanilla Glazed, Double Chocolate, Classic Strawberry, Oreo Cookies & Kreme and Salty Caramel.
(Psst! Here’s how to make milkshakes at home.)
Scoop sandwiches
Krispy Kreme is also bringing a delightful doughnut twist to a classic ice cream sandwich. Say hello to scoop sandwiches! The doughnuts are cut in half and then stuffed with ice cream. These also come in different flavors, like Vanilla Sprinkled, Triple Chocolate, Vanilla Fruity Crunch, Chocolatey Caramel Coconut, Vanilla Chip and Cookies & Kreme.
Customizable doughnuts
If nothing on the menu strikes your fancy, design a dream doughnut. You can choose from five glazes, 10 toppings and five drizzle flavors.
What other changes is Krispy Kreme making?
Some changes are more tech-based, like their digital menus and renovated display cases. (If you’re in a hurry but still want to grab some doughnuts, you can look forward to Krispy Kreme’s online ordering system and mobile order pickup.)
And, because we all love watching Krispy Kreme doughnuts being made, you’ll be able to enjoy an “enhanced doughnut theater experience” at the new stores. It should provide an end-to-end look at doughnut making, and we’re pretty happy about about that!
When is one coming to my town?
The first redesigned location with the new menu is in Concord, North Carolina. Can’t make it to Concord? Krispy Kreme will be opening up 45 new stores through 2020, but exact locations have not been announced. While you’re waiting, check out the best doughnut shop in every state.
