Here are a few different ways to bake a warm and filling blueberry dump cake.

Did you know blueberries are a nutrient-rich superfood? They have tons of health and beauty benefits.

How to Make a Lemon Blueberry Dump Cake

This easy recipe comes to us from Nancy Heishman of Las Vegas, Nevada. It makes 15 tasty servings.

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 6 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 package lemon cake mix

For the Topping:

  • 2 containers (6 ounces each) lemon yogurt
  • 1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup marshmallow creme
  • 1/3 cup lemon curd
  • Additional blueberries, optional

Directions

Step 1: Mix It Up

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Toss the blueberries with cinnamon and spread them into a greased 13×9-in. baking dish. Drizzle the berries and cinnamon with half of the melted butter. Sprinkle in the cake mix, then drizzle on the remaining melted butter.

Step 2: Bake The Blues

Bake the blueberry cake mix for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Carefully remove the dish from the oven and let it cool.

Step 3: Top It Off

Beat together the yogurt, whipped topping, marshmallow creme and lemon curd. Serve the dump cake with the yogurt mixture and, if desired, top with additional blueberries. Enjoy!

Can I make this recipe with blueberry pie filling?

If you want a richer, denser dump cake with even more blueberry goodness, you can absolutely make it with blueberry pie filling instead of the fresh berries. Just swap in a 21 oz can of blueberry pie filling in place of the fresh blueberries.

Can I make this dump cake in a slow cooker?

Slow cookers are great for those busy days when spending hours in the kitchen prepping a meal may not be an option. And dump cakes, as we know, are an ideal, minimal-effort dessert.

If you opt to make your dump cake in a slow cooker, complete step 1 in your slow cooker’s crock, then cover and cook on high for 2 hours. When the cake is done baking, simply add the yogurt mixture and additional blueberries. Serve warm.
