Everyone’s Buzzing About Coffee Coca-Cola

After releasing Orange Vanilla Coke—the first new flavor in over a decade—everyone’s favorite soda brand is pushing the boundaries even further. If you’ve ever had trouble choosing between a cold, sugary pick-me-up and a hot coffee in the morning, then worry no more. Coca-Cola is considering bringing back a variation of Coca-Cola Blak, aka coffee-flavored Coke.

It’s the Prodigal Flavor

If you’re a big enough fan, you might remember Coca-Cola Blak’s debut in 2006. The flavor was unique, caffeine-packed and, unfortunately, not very popular. Only two years after hitting shelves, Coca-Cola Blak was pulled, and we haven’t seen it since. Now, 11 years later, Coke is chalking up the bold flavor’s failure to bad timing, and Coke Plus Coffee is sneaking into stores across the globe.

If you think coffee in Coke is wacky, add this instead.

They’re Reinventing the Formula

Since Coca Cola Blak didn’t perform well with soda fans, Coke took to the drawing board. This new version contains more real coffee and a significant jump in caffeine content compared to your average can. We can’t give you a sneak peek of the flavor, but we imagine it’s the perfect blend of sweet and bold—totally unique and totally what we’re into. It’s the perfect boost to your day, even if you’re not crazy for coffee.

This is the weird reason Coke tastes better at McDonald’s.

Why Haven’t You Heard of It?

You probably haven’t seen this flavor because it hasn’t made its way to the United States yet. Jump on a flight to Australia, Italy, Spain, Thailand or Poland and you just might nab yourself a can of Coke Plus Coffee.

A spokesperson from Coke raved about the “potential for the beverage,” meaning the flavor might be coming to America sooner than you think. Plans are to introduce Coke Plus Coffee to 25 international markets by the end of 2019. Will America be one of them? It looks like we’ll just have to wait and see!

In the meantime, you can always enjoy this berry delicious limited-edition Dr Pepper flavor.
