We thought all of our dreams came true with the release of Orange Vanilla Coke in February, but now we’re dreaming of creamy soft serve. Dairy Queen just jumped on the Dreamsicle bandwagon with its latest dipped cone. The catch? It’s hard to get your hands on one.
Psst: Here’s how to get a free DQ cone.
What’s a Dreamsicle Dipped Cone?
The new Dreamsicle Dipped Cone is a heavenly delight that combines Dairy Queen’s trademark vanilla soft serve with the tangy sweetness of an orange outer shell. The flavor is already so popular that some stores have started selling Dilly Bars dunked in the sauce by request. And we thought it couldn’t get any better!
But before you hop in the car to head for the nearest DQ, hit the brakes. Your location might not be carrying it. Yet.
DQ is the 3rd oldest restaurant chain ever founded. Wanna know the first?
Here’s When You Can (Probably) Get One
The Dreamsicle Dipped Cone does actually exist, but Dairy Queen has kept very mum about the whole launch. For many, Free Cone Day, which took place on March 20, was their introduction to the new cone.
Oddly enough, the cone wasn’t formally promoted. Only one sentence in the entire statement released by DQ for the food holiday alluded to the frozen treat.
Since then, it hasn’t appeared on any DQ spring menu announcements, either, and only select locations are serving the dreamy treat. Nonetheless, people are finding (and gobbling up) the cones.
Even if your store doesn’t yet have this Dreamsicle dipped delight, you might have the chance to get one in-hand before they’re gone for good. Many are speculating that the frozen treat will be making its official appearance on May 1, along with the rest of the summer menu. If waiting just isn’t your thing, you can stave off that sweet tooth with this tastealike recipe.
