Everyone loves quick bread; as the name suggests, the loaves come together in hardly any time at all. Plus they’re easy to make and always tender and delicious. The recipes for quick bread range from pumpkin bread to cheese bread and everything in between, including strawberry banana bread!
Banana bread is probably the most popular quick bread, with more recipes floating around than there are stars in the sky. This recipe ups the ante by adding mashed strawberry to the mix. Bonus: There’s no mixer required for this simple but satisfying bread.

Make the Recipe Your Own
You can easily adapt the flavors in this recipe to suit your own tastes—toss in some cardamom or ginger instead of nutmeg. Any kind of nut is fair game, too; pecans would be an excellent addition. Make it just as you like!
How to Make Strawberry Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 3/4 cup mashed fresh strawberries (Be sure to store your fresh strawberries properly.)
- 1/2 cup mashed ripe banana (about 1 large)
- 1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts
Step 1: Ready Your Equipment
Preheat your oven to 350° and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan. Boom. Done.
Step 2: Grab Two Bowls
Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and spices in one large bowl and whisk together until blended. In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar and oil until smooth.
Step 3: Add the Fruit and Nuts
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix just until moistened, then incorporate the mashed strawberries and banana. Lastly, gently fold in the walnuts.
Step 4: Bake
Pour the batter into the pan you prepared in Step 1 and bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Here are lots more recipes you can make in your loaf pan.
Step 5: Cool (the Hardest Part!)
Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack. You’ll want the bread to cool completely before slicing and eating. You don’t need to slather your slice with butter, but I would recommend it anyway!
Just one slice of strawberry banana bread, and you may never go back to plain banana bread again.
