Not one but three major fires are roaring through California right now. The largest and most destructive blaze—known as the Camp Fire—began about a week ago near Sacramento. It has scorched more than 100,000 acres and destroyed more than 6,700 structures. The area’s emergency responders are fighting to keep people and property safe.
Guy Fieri recently turned up at the staging area for the hardworking firefighters, law enforcement officials and other brave souls fighting the Camp Fire. The mayor of Flavortown brought enough pulled pork and other “righteous” food to feed them all. He took to Twitter to raise awareness.
In today’s tumultuous world, it’s amazing to see our fire fighters, military, law enforcement and first responders come together to rescue our communities devestated by fire. So many great people stepping up to take care of one another #ProudAmerican #CampFire pic.twitter.com/VgXgBJuPT0

The Butte County Sheriff shared photos of Fieri’s visit on Twitter, including happy shots of Fieri mingling with first responders:

It might be surprising to see a celebrity chef like Guy Fieri step up to help first responders. But he’s got a pretty good track record of helping others.
Guy Fieri’s no stranger to feeding firefighters
Guy Fieri demonstrated generosity and compassion for first responders at the Camp Fire. But not too long ago, he prepared meals for victims and first responders during the deadly Carr Fire. He helped feed a total of 5,000 evacuees per day! Fieri also served food to firefighters and evacuees of California wildfires in 2017.
“Feeding thousands of people at once isn’t the simplest thing,” Fieri told CNN. But what made “all the difference,” he said, was the help of many volunteers who stepped up to help him. So Fieri is generous—and he’s incredibly gracious, too.
You may not be able to serve pulled pork for thousands or make breakfast for the firefighters, but you can do something. To help the cause in California, support the American Red Cross or make a donation to the California Wildlife Relief Fund.
